Scalloped Potato Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 large potatoes, sliced very thin (I used this mandolin slicer)
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 3 tbs flour
  • 1½ cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash black pepper
  • 1 dash red pepper flakes (if desired)
  • 2 cup cheddar cheese (the sharper the better- set aside ½ cup to top it off)
  • paprika
Instructions
  1. Grease casserole dish.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  3. In small sauce pan, met butter.
  4. Blend in flour well. Add cold milk, whisk well.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes.
  6. Cook on low, whisking until smooth.
  7. Remove from heat and blend in 1½ cups cheese.
  8. Mix well.
  9. Put half of the potatoes in the casserole dish.
  10. Pour half of the cheese sauce over potatoes.
  11. Place remaining potatoes in dish and pour remainder of cheese sauce over top.
  12. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and top with a dash of paprika.
  13. Bake for 1 hour.
