Candied Orange Slices

  • 4 small oranges (or 2 large ones)
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups sugar, with some reserved for coating
  1. Wash the oranges and slice them evenly about ⅛ inch thick.
  2. Add the sugar to the water in a large sauce pan and bring to a boil until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium (simmer)
  4. Add the oranges slowly so they don't clump together.
  5. Turning the oranges occasionally.
  6. Cook 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the slices from the syrup and place on a wire rack or parchment paper lined sheet pan.
  8. Allow to cool and dry completely- up to 24 hours.
  9. When dry- coat with sugar.
  10. Keep in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
