My daughter needed a new chicken coop so we thought we would give it a try. We made this chicken coop for 4 chickens for under $100.00. We made it 2ft wide x 4f long 18″-24″ tall.
Materials:
- 3/4″ Plywood
- 2×4
- 1×4
- Metal roofing
- Hinges
- Clasp
- Cinderblocks
- Roofing nails with rubber washers
- Drywall nails
- Barn & fence paint

- Supplies

- Make a frame out of 2×4’s

- Cut a piece of plywood for the floor

- Make frames for the walls out of 1×2’s and use plywood

- 3 sides down

- Pieces for the nesting areas

- Make a nesting area for each chicken with plywood and 1×2’s

- Nesting areas all done

- Attach the front with hinges and attach the latch

- Attach the metal roof
We put the coop on top of cinder blocks and filled it with bedding. One chicken laid an egg inside the new coop within minutes!
