I’m ashamed to show you these BEFORE pictures. My laundry room was the catch-all room. Please don’t judge me too harshly!
My washer & dryer weren’t a matching set and the dryer is OLD and rusty but it runs great. I’d had enough so I decided to do a little refresh of the entire room and now I LOVE it.
Laundry Room (BEFORE)
To start I decided to use some of this peel & Stick faux brick wallpaper to line the back wall.
You can find many different styles – this one here is very similar
I built the shelves myself previously (using plumbing pipes and wood that I stained…) but you can find similar ones here.
Next up I painted the cabinets with my FAVORITE paint: Heirloom Traditions. I did the cabinets in the color Cathedral and I LOVE it. It is an all in one Chalk paint – no wax and no top coat required, I LOVE it. Shop the paints here.
I decided to use the knobs I already had – similar to these black knobs.
Next it was time to tackle the washer and dryer. They had a LOT of dings and damage.
To cover it up and give the washer and dryer a new life we used Appliance Epoxy. It took 3 cans to do both the washer and dryer. (We did NOT do the full sides since they are not visible in our laundry room.
Tips we learned; wash the appliance and allow to dry and then dry dust to be sure there is NO dust on it. Spray slow and make multiple passes. Dripping doesn’t look good. Be sure to tape off the parts you do not want to spray paint.
We’re about three weeks into this makeover and so far they are holding up REALLY well! The first 48 hours we didn’t use them because we wanted to let it completely cure so take that into account before tackling this project.
To cute-it-up I added labels to the washer and dryer using my Cricut machine. If you don’t have a machine you can buy some pre-made labels here
.
I really really love this one 🙂
All in All – it took about 3 days for all the painting to dry and to pull this together. It’s amazing what some wall paper and a little paint can do! Since I had the wallpaper and knobs.
