y’all I am in LOVE with this budget bathroom makeover. I’d LOVE to replace the faucets but not ready to take on that since these are high quality so those are the only things left I want to change.
Excuse the mess…but here is the only before picture I had.
Our house is a 1950s farmhousey-house so this bathroom is the only “modern” looking room. It had a darker grey wall and black vanity and medicine cabinet. Those are staying with some updates. The mirrors are staying as well.
Excuse the plant in the shower- it was it’s weekly watering. Moving all my big plants to the shower is the easiest way to let them soak and wash their leaves off too.
The tiles are staying too.
Step 1: Repaint
I used agreeable grey. YES, I know it’s pretty overplayed but it really is just the most awesome neutral color! My bedroom is the same color but it looks SO different in each room.
Step 2: Wallpaper
I fell in absolute LOVE with this vintage poppy wallpaper. I love that the flowers were big and bold. Very little of it really is seen because of the window and the shower and mirrors so it’s not overpowering but really packs a punch.
This is NOT your grandma’s wall paper it is more like a big sticker so it is easy to put up and fix any issues PLUS it’s easy to remove when I want to change it.
Step 3: New Lamps
I am in LOVE with these lamps. The original modern silver lamps weren’t doing it….so I got these AMAZING lights from Lowes.
Step 4:Paint the cabinet
These are well made cabinets but they did have damage so I used my FAVORITE heirloom paint to paint them. I LOVE that it ties great into the wallpaper but it will also go with any other theme as time goes on.
I LOVE this paint- it requires no sanding is very forgiving. I used Crete color.
Getting the light perfect for a good picture of this color has been hard but in real life- it’s the PERfecT green color. A Little Olive, a little muted and just plain beautiful.
Step 5: HardWare
I LOVE these gold hardware pulls! They were the absolute best price I found anywhere.
I love these robe/towel hooks too.
I found these wall planters on clearance but these wall planters are pretty similar.
other accessories;
I got these gold soap bottles.
I ordered fancier gold toothbrush holders but they never shipped….so I got these and painted the chrome gold.
This gold paper holder was just perfect!
I thrifted this vase and tray for about $3 each…and got the roses at Harris Teeter.
I thrifted this crystal bowl and it’s perfect for the soap roses I found on clearance a long time ago!
Hope says
It’s beautiful! You did a great job!
