Lesson Learned: Before attempting to make chocolate chip cookies- make sure you have the chocolate chips! We were done making the dough for our cookies when I realized- we didn’t have any chips. Uh-Oh. So we improvised and I think the result turned out great! In fact, I will be making this on purpose from now on!
Cookie Cake Ingredients:
1 c. butter
1/2 c. Sugar
1/2 c. BrownSugar
1 egg
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 350.
Combine flour, baking soda, salt in a bowl. Set aside.
Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla.
Slowly add dry ingredients into creamed butter miture.
Spread in 9×13 baking pan.
Bake 20 minutes or until completely baked.
Vanilla Sauce:
1/2 c light brown sugar
1 tsp. flour
1 pinch ground cinnamon
1 egg
2 tbs. butter, melted
1 1/2 c. whole milk
1 pinch salt
1 tbs. vanilla extract
Directions:
Whisk brown sugar, flour, cinnamon, egg, milk, salt and melted butter together in sauce pan.
While constantly whisking, heat over medium heat until sauce is thick.
This takes about 10 minutes.
Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
Stir well.
Pour sauce over cookie cake or place on the side to dip.
