Wire Basket Makeover {DIY Farmhouse Look}

I am SO in love with this basket makeover and it was so easy. I’ve had my baskets for YEARS and they were from Wamart but the Dollar Tree sells similar ones!

What you need:

Tools you need:

Tape Measure
Saw ( I LOVE This small one)
Sander

Here is how I did it:

I had these bronzy-gold baskets in my house for a while now and I decided to make them over and turn them into something useful AND beautiful!

First measure the inside bottom of the basket. This is where your piece of wood will sit. It can be tricky if there are edges or slopes but it’s better to start out a little too big and trim and sand it smaller than have a piece way too small.

First, I spray painted them with some spray paint I had on hand. I highly recommend a matte black for this look.

U.S. National WhiteWater Center Review

The past few years we’ve taken a cruise in the winter but with the current situation (i.e. Cruise ships shut down) we decided to do something different with one of my husband’s vacation weeks this year! We took a week of day trips. We went to the beach and went parasailing and then for one day we decided to head over to the U.S. National WhiteWater Center in Charlotte, NC.

They offer SO Much more than just whitewater adventures.

Whitewater Rafting
Ziplines
Flatwater Kayaking
Deep Water Solo (rock climbing wall and jump into the pool)
Rock Wall Climbing
Rope Courses
Whitewater Kayaking
Mountain Biking

They even offer ice skating in the winter time!

They offer all access day passes for $59 a person, a two-day pass for $109 and an annual pass for $219.

If you only want to do ONE activity you can pay for a single activity for a slight discount. For example- rafting is $49/day and climbing is $25/day and ziplining is $49/day. But you get the biggest bang for your buck for the all access pass.

There are a few upgrades to the day pass you can opt for.

Figure 8 and Double Down (the larger ziplines) are $10/person upgrade. TOTALLY worth it.
Rodeo Rafting (upgrade fee)

Here are a few things I wish I knew before we arrived.

Wear water shoes. Get ones with really good rubber soles so you don’t have to constantly swap out shoes. As long as they are closed toe you can use them for all of the activities. Look for ones with good soles because many of the walkways are gravel and thin soles can hurt. If you switch from water activities to aerial ones you won’t have to switch in and out of sneakers.

Antique Dresser Makeover

I LOVE this dresser.

Things I LOVE about this dresser:

My mom bought it when she was first married many years ago.
The drawers are spacious and open and close easily.
The original wooden wheels
The classic hardware

It was in desperate need of some touch ups. The top was missing pieces of veneer and the drawers were also.

I took off all the hardware and cleaned it all up. I debated for hours on if I could fix the veneer enough to restain it or if it would need painting. Ended up that it would need painting.

Laundry Room Mini-Makeover On a Budget

I’m ashamed to show you these BEFORE pictures. My laundry room was the catch-all room. Please don’t judge me too harshly!

My washer & dryer weren’t a matching set and the dryer is OLD and rusty but it runs great. I’d had enough so I decided to do a little refresh of the entire room and now I LOVE it.
