Yesterday my inbox was blowing up with emails, messages and texts about a Super Doubles event at the end of the month…in fact it included the corporate email saying it was a 7 day event.

It sounds like the plans got some push back and corporate Harris Teeter has decided NOT to run any Super Doubles event.  

Honestly, I’d been really hesitant to even say anything about the rumors I’d been hearing but once I saw the actual notice I posted this rumor alert.

I’m so sorry we all got our hopes up but as always when I have reliable information I want to pass it on.  As always- I’ll post all the deals at the stores each week.

Super Doubles or not- we have some great deals EVERY day at the stores.

 

Guys- knock me over with a feather. The text messages started this morning and so far FOUR sources are saying that they’ve been told that Harris Teeter will be running Super Doubles 7/29 -8/4.

This is ONLY a rumor. The event is not official until an email or sales flyer confirms it but stores HAVE been alerted to this event.

With the current climate- this could be changed at ANY TIME. I will keep this updated as more information comes out.

I’m honestly super surprised that it even being considered…but I know that stores have been alerted (at least at upper management levels) about this event.

How does Super Doubles work?

Coupons written for $2 and under will double. So a $2 coupon deducts $4 total, a $3 coupon stays $3.
Limit 20 coupons per day will double, per VIC Card/Household. Additional coupons are redeemed at face value.
Limit 3 like coupons per transaction double (additional newspaper coupons at face value but  only 3 like internet printables per day period)
Orders cannot be split to get around coupon limits.
Coupons will double UP TO the sale price but not over (so no overage)

There is often confusion about the limits at stores – especially Harris Teeter with their eVIC limits, B2G3 limits and more.  Limits are either a Hard Limit- meaning that that’s the final limit for the entire sale or Soft Limit- meaning it’s a per transaction limit and you can come back the next day to get the deal again.

So- At Harris Teeter, is the limit for the whole week? Per Transaction? How many can I buy at Harris Teeter?

eVIC offers: Hard Limit.  The limit is total for the entire week with your VIC card.  In addition, if the limit is 2 you must buy the maximum you want all at once.  If you buy one today, you cannot go back tomorrow and get the second at the same discount.  It’s a use it or lose it discount.

Weekend eVIC offers: Hard Limit.  The limit is total for the entire week with your VIC card.  In addition, if the limit is 4 you must buy the maximum you want all at once.  If you buy one today, you cannot go back tomorrow and get the other three at the same discount.  It’s a use it or lose it discount.

B2G3 Free: Soft Limit.  This is a per transaction limit.  If you buy 10 of the B2G3 items today, you can return every day for the rest of the week to get 10 more!

 

Double Coupons:  Hard and Soft Limit. Harris Teeter Doubles coupons $0.99 or less every day.  They will double 3 like coupons and up to 20 total coupons per day.  This is both a hard limit and a soft limit.  The number of doubled coupons is a hard limit per day. If you use 20 at a store in the morning and try to get 20 more to double at a different store later in the afternoon- they won’t double.  The register recognizes that 20 have been doubled and will redeem them at face value only.  However, you can return the next day and get 20 more to double.

eVIC Coupons: Hard Limit.  These are limit 1.  Just like a paper coupon- use it once and it’s gone.  It will apply to one item and then it will disappear from your saved coupons list.
