This lamp was made for a baby nursery. We found the owl at a consignment shop. It is a quick way to get exactly the lamp you want.

Materials:

• Lamp Wiring Kit (you may not need the harp it depends on the type of shade you choose)
• Wooden Base of your choice
• Wooden Knobs for Base Legs
• All thread long enough to go thru ceramic and base and with enough length for rest of wiring kit for socket
• Trim to go around both squares
• Ceramic Statue of your Choice
• Lamp shade

Instructions:

1. Drill a hole in the top and bottom of ceramic using a drill and concrete drill bit and keeping it wet
2. Drill hole in center of wood base
3. Attach knobs to bottom of wood base
4. Paint base
5. Attach the ceramic to base with the all thread (you may have to cut some of the all thread off)
6. Wire the lamp according to the direction in the lamp wiring kit

That is it. You can use almost anything to make a lamp.

Cute way to display and store your baby’s hair clips and bows!

 

Materials:

1. Frame

2. Fabric

3. Coordinating ribbon

4. Hot glue

 

Directions:

1. Cover the glass of the frame with your choice of fabric.

2. Cut strips of ribbon at least 2 inches longer than the width of the glass.

3. Place the ribbon strips across the front of the fabric and attach on the back.

4. Replace the glass and back of the frame.

This is a quick project and works perfect for business cards. You can make it any size or color and add anything to dress it up.

Materials:

• Couplings or pipe fittings (PVC or brass) whatever you like, there are so many to choose from
• PVC Saddle Tap that your coupling or pipe fitting will screw into (I used one that is about 3″ long and looks like it is 1/2 of a PVC pipe)
• Spray Paint

Instructions:

1. Screw the coupling into the saddle tap
2. Spray paint the entire piece
3. Add lace or other decorations as desired

Cute hair bow for yourself, baby, or little girl!

Materials:

1. Burlap

2. Button

3. Hot Glue

4. Felt

5. Hair clip

 

Directions:

1. Cut a circle of felt with about a 1 inch diameter.

2. Cut a strip of burlap that is about 1 inch wide.

3.  Using hot glue, glue the corner of the burlap strip to the middle of the felt circle.

4. Scrunch the burlap strip to make a fold/petal.

5. Glue the corner of the fold to the middle of the felt.

6. Continue scrunching and gluing around the felt circle.

7. When the circle is complete, cut off the remaining burlap.

8. Glue the button to the middle of the burlap.

9. Glue the hair clip to the back of the hair bow.

We were putting on a Dr. Seuss Baby Shower for my daughter who is having twins! I wanted to put something around the chair where she would be sitting at the shower so I came up with the idea of truffulas.  I used items I had around the house so it did not cost anything to make these.

Materials:

• PVC pipe the length and diameter are up to you (Mine are 1″ pipes cut in lengths from 3 ft – 5 ft)
• Several colors of spray point (or leave them white, gray or black whatever color pipes you want)
• Something to wrap around the pipe to make it striped. (I used what is called  fuzzy knit because someone had given it to me. I used 4 strands because it is thin)
• A block of wood with a hole drilled in the middle the size of the pipe
• Make a large tissue paper flower or buy Decorations Bouffantes from a party store (I had these left over from another project. They are pre-cut and folded ready to pull apart to make a top. Mine is 16″ in diameter)
• Material or tissue paper to cover block of wood

Instructions:

1. Cut the PVC pipes the length you want
2. Drill a hole in the block of wood and insert the PVC pipes
3. Paint the PVC pipes with spray paint
4. Wrap the PVC pipes some sort of string or yarn
5. Make or buy a top
6. Put some material or tissue paper around the block to cover it up

You are done! They are quick and easy to make and look awesome for the party.

DIY blocks to spell child’s name.  Simple way to complement the decor of your nursery or child’s room.

Materials:

1. Wooden blocks

2. Scrapbook paper

3. Paint

4. Glue

5. Letter stickers

 

Directions:

1. Paint the wooden blocks the color of your choice.

2. Cut the scrapbook paper in squares the size of your blocks.

3. Glue the scrapbook paper onto each side of the blocks.

4. Choose one side of each block.  Attach the letter stickers to one side of each block to spell the child’s name.

My grandson loves to work and to make things. He came over one day and we decided to make a small hallway table for his mother. It came out great and his mother loves it.

Materials:

• Plywood for the top (ours was 8″ x 24″)
• 4  – 27″ wooden table legs (use whatever length you need)
• 4 – 2.43-in table leg angle top plate to attach legs to bottom of table top
• Spray primer paint
• Spray paint color of your choice
• Fine sand paper
• Measuring tape
• Saw to cut top (or buy it pre-cut)
• Drill and bits
• Screw driver

Instructions:

1. Measure and cut the top of the table
2. Sand the table smooth
3. Mark where to drill the holes
4. Drill the holes for the screws for the top plate
5. Attach the top plate with screws
6. Attach the legs to the top plate
7. Spray table and legs with primer
8. When dry spray the table with the final spray pain

Quick wall art for any room in the house!

 

Materials:

1. Matted frame

2. Silhouette of your choice printed from your computer

3. Plain scrapbook paper

4. Scrapbook paper with a design

 

Directions:

1. Print the silhouette of your choice.

2. Cut out the silhouette.

3. Trace the silhouette backwards on the back side of your patterned scrapbook paper.

4. Glue the silhouette onto the plain colored scrapbook paper, in the center of the matted area of the frame.

5. Hang and enjoy.

Pennant Banners are fun and easy to make. You can make them out of paper or cloth and for any occasion such as birthday. I made a 4th of July banner out of heavy scrap book paper and glued different color star buttons on each pennant.

Materials:

• Several different pieces of  heavy scrap book paper that go together for your theme
• String or ribbon long enough to hang the pennants on and extra on each end for tying
• Hot glue or Tacky glue
• Any adornments that go with the theme
• Craft scissors

Instructions:

1. Trace the pennants onto the scrap book paper (you can get a pennant template for free online)
2. Cut our each pennant using different craft scissors
3. Fold the top of each pennant over the string or ribbon and glue it
4. Glue on adornments that go with the theme or colors

Easy to make cute DIY wall art for your kitchen!

Materials:

1. Frame

2. Scrapbook paper or fabric

3. Spray Paint

4. Fork, knife, spoon

 

Directions:

1. Spray paint the silverware in your choice of color.

2. If using scrapbook paper, glue the paper to the glass of the frame.  I like to use spray adhesive so it has a sturdy hold.  If using fabric instead of paper, wrap the fabric around the glass of the frame and glue on the back.

3. When the silverware is dry, attach the silverware to the wrapped glass of the frame.

4.  Let dry, hang and enjoy the new art in your kitchen!
