I no longer put up a Christmas Tree since my children are all grown up and we usually spend Christmas at someone else’s house. My grandchildren decided to make sure I had a tree, a whole forest of them that I could use year after year!
Just cut some triangles out of wood in several sizes. Paint with craft paint any color you desire and that is it!
This is a great project for a classroom, birthday party or just some bored kids.
This is a quick project that I made for my grandchildren. I always like to have something new in the playroom whee they visit.
Materials:
I just cut the wood and sanded it. I used a piece of plywood so I put trim around the whole thing to finish it off. Paint it and then glue and screw the lens and top button in place as well as screw the the strap on each side. I also found a rubber tube that worked perfect to go into the viewer.
I had some veggies left over from some of the great sales we have been having fresh vegetables (I have added links to this weeks deals) and I wanted pizza so I just threw them on top. I used cauliflower, green peppers, onions, shredded cheese and pepperoni. The crust was Wewalka that I got on sale at Lowes Foods.
I diced up the onions, pepper and cauliflower and cooked them in olive oil. I opened up the pizza crust and added sauce, the sauted veggies and then the shredded cheese and baked according to the directions on the Wewalka package. Delicious!
My daughter does an annual “Toys for Tots” & Picture with Santa event. This year they are doing a Polar Express theme and she asked me to make some wooden train signs. I had everything but the paint with all of my wood scraps I have saved much to my husband’s complaining.
I think they came out great. Use your imagination. For example the rings on the red lights are canning jar rings, all of the signage boards are from pallets, the bases were from the leftover wood from a project where I glued 2 pieces of plywood together and the poles are 2 by 4’s cut in half.
These would be a great prop for a pre-school who does the Polar Express theme every year!
The signs are approx 4 feet tall.
I love potato soup and I am always trying different ways to make it. I think I finally found the recipe I love the best.

I had chickens and ducks and I was tired of them spilling their feed all over the ground so I made a feeder.

Cut as many holes the diameter of the PVC elbow around the bottom of the can with the saws all as you want openings for the food. The elbows should face down inside the can. Make sure it will rest at least an 1″ above the bottom of the inside of the trash can to allow the feed to go below it.
Put the elbow in and seal it up with tub/tile sealant. Glue a small piece of PVC pipe or other plastic under the elbow inside the can to help stabilize it. I cut a 1″ piece off a 1″ PVC pipe.
Only fill the feeder up about halfway up the pipes. The weight of the food might loosen up the elbows if you put too much food in the can and you want the food to sat fresh.
Now you do not have to feed the chickens every day and the food stays dry and clean.

Pipes come in different colors so you should find something to match your decor. Use several flanges to use for hanging up the pipe pot holder.
I love spaghetti without meat and my husband loves it with meat. We compromised and he got his protein with some kidney beans! I heated up the white sauce and threw in some kidney beans. Put it on top of the cooked spaghetti and added some grated cheese.
it was delicious and he didn’t mind there was no meat.
I was tired of magazines just laying all around the living room so I decided to take some pallet wood and make a basket for them.
