y’all I am OVER THE MOON in love with the cement look…it’s actually a bit of an obsession right now so when I stumbled upon my stash of Oui jars I decided to try a makeover and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.
These jars were my inspiration
Oui Jars (or similar)
Glue Remover
Grey and Brown acrylic paint
Baking Soda
Gold Paint
Paint Brushes
Matte Spray Clear Coat
Optional : Succulent plants
Remove the stickers and residue from the jars.
Wash and dry the jars completely.
Paint the bottom (or top) of each jar with some gold. You can free hand OR use tape to mark off where you want the gold only to be.
Allow to completely dry and add a second coat.
Allow to completely dry.
Use mostly grey paint with a dash of brown to create the perfect “cement” color.
Make enough to do 2 coats on each jar. (If you’d rather just use plain grey you can…but it looks SO much better with a touch of brown).
Do one coat on each jar above (or below) the gold and store the remainder of the paint.
Allow jars to completely dry.
Add a small amount of baking soda to the grey paint mixture to create a went cement like consistency.
A little Baking soda goes a LONG way!
Paint over the first grey coat. Create a cement like texture.
Allow to dry completely.
If you plan to use REAL plants you will need to coat the jars with a matte clear coat (because you don’t want the cement to look shiny). If you plan to use faux plants this step may not be necessary.
