I get tired of trash thrown all over my car so I made a trashbag for each child. It hangs on the back of the seat and it can be wiped clean inside or even thrown in the washer and hung up to dry.
Materials:
- Material (I bought pre-cut squares at my local fabric store) The final project was 9″x11″
- Sewing machine
- Thread to match material
- Shelf liner roll
- Straps (I took them off of old bags but you can buy the same strap material at your local fabric store)
Instructions:
- Cut a piece of the shelf liner 1/2″ longer on the the side to allow for the seam 1/2″ longer on the bottom to allow for the seam but 1″ shorter on teh top as you want the bag to be
- Put both sides together sew a seam along the side of the liner
- Sew a seam along the bottom of the liner
- Repeat with the material
- Turn the bag right side out
- Leave the liner inside out
- Put the liner inside of the bag with the seams matching (When you look inside of the liner you will not see your seam)
- Fold the top of the material down over the liner and sew it
- Add handles to the inside top of the bag on the side where there is a seam
That is it. Take the headrest off and slide the bag on and put the head rest back.
