I found an old dresser in a shed when we bought a house. The wood was in good shape but the dresser was dirty and the paint was scratched. It did not take much work to turn that old dresser into one I can put in my office.

This is how the dresser looked when I found it
MATERIALS:
- Sandpaper
- Primer
- Paint
- Scrapbook paper
- Thick glue
- Drop cloth
INSTRUCTIONS:
- 1) Sand all surfaces with sandpaper or electric sander
- 2) Paint all wood surfaces with primer
- 3) Apply final coat of paint and allow to dry
- 4) Cut a piece of thick scrapbook paper slightly smaller than drawer fronts and glue it on with thick glue. Get all the air bubbles out by rubbing over the paper with a small roller or your hand. I added a small piece of scrapbook paper to the lower front of the dresser as well.
If the handles are wood like mine, just paint them or you can replace them with new knobs. There you have it a new dresser with little effort or cost.
This turned out really neat!
