Here is the template for the toaster: Wooden Play Toaster Template
Materials:
- 1/2″ x 6″ x 24″select pine
- 3/8″ x 6″ x 24″ select pine
- Spray paint of your choice (get good quality with primer or you will have to prime it first) or stain
- Sand paper or sander
- 2″ screw with cover
- Large clamps
- Nail gun
- Wood burner
Instructions:
- Cut out all the pieces per template
- Round edges of base with sander, paint and put aside
- Sand toast and burn edges with the wood burner and stain or paint brown
- Assemble all pieces of the toaster, glue, clamp, nail and allow to dry overnight (do not attach base yet)
- Round all edges of the toaster except the bottom where it will attach to the base
- Sand down the levers per template instructions
- Drill hole for the screw with levers in place inside the toaster
- Remove the levers and paint and/or stain the toaster and paint the levers separately
- Glue and nail the base to the toaster
- Put levers in place with the screw
- Add decals of your choice
