My family LOVES BBQ ribs! We usually simmer them on the stove for about 3-4 hours and then place them on the grill to BBQ.
Yesterday I wanted to cook some ribs but needed my stove and oven for other things so we did Slow Cooker BBQ Ribs. These were AMAZING- best ribs we’ve ever had!
Ingredients:
1/2 can Beer of choice
Bottle of BBQ sauce
Rack of Ribs
BBQ rub (If you don’t have premade you can use 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup paprika, 1 tablespoon ground black pepper, 1 tablespoon salt 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 1 tablespoon onion powder)
Directions:
Rub BBQ Rub on Ribs – (If you do this the night before they come out even better!)
Cut ribs so they fit in the slow cooker.
Place each section in the slow cooker.
Pour 1/2 can of beer of choice into the slow cooker (I used Heinken because that is what we had on hand)
Cook on low 6-8 hours. (Note: I was home so 1/2 way through I pulled all the ribs out and put them back in in opposite order- the ones that were on top were placed on the bottom, etc)
Remove ribs from slow cooker and place on broil pan or foil lined backing sheet. Smear BBQ sauce on them and place in the oven and broil on low for just a few minutes to crisp up the BBQ Sauce.
Get lots of napkins and ENJOY!
