Guys this pulled chicken in the slow cooker is SO good! With both BBQ Sauce AND Chicken being Buy 2 Get 3 FREE at Harris Teeter 3/11 – 3/17 this is the perfect recipe!
Using a slow cooker liner is really important with this recipe because the sauce thickens and sticks to the sides.
- 3-4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts
- Salt, Pepper to Taste
- 1 Bottle BBQ Sauce of Choice
- ½-1 Cup Apple Juice
- Red Pepper Flakes, optional
- Place the liner in the slow cooker and add chicken.
- Salt & Pepper to taste.
- Whisk BBQ Sauce and approximately ½ - 1 cup of Apple Juice
- Pour over the chicken and cook on low for 4-6 hours.
- Remove chicken from slow cooker and shred.
- Replace chicken into sauce.
- Cook on high without lid if the sauce is too thin.
- Serve hot on buns of choice
Tips:
- Use your favorite BBQ Sauce it really doesn’t matter the brand.
- Be sure to flip the chicken over in the sauce so it all gets coated while cooking.
- You can do this in the Pressure Cooker Instead – use 1 cup of juice and cook on high power for 15 minutes. Natural Release.
