If I had to pick one small appliance that makes my life easier- it would be a hard choice between by pressure cooker and my air fryer. Both do AMAZING things and make me look like an amazing cook…in a fraction of the conventional time.
From package to plate- this was about 45 minutes for this recipe for Split-Chicken (Bone-in) Chicken Breast.
You can mix up the spices to create different flavors. I was using mine in tacos so I didn’t want to have too many flavors because I’ll be adding sauces to the final taco. Other ideas: Use dry ranch mixes sprinkled on top instead of spices or use taco seasoning, or just use poultry seasoning.
- 2 split chicken breasts
- Olive oil or butter
- pepper
- oregano
- garlic salt
- onion powder
- red pepper flakes
- Smear chicken with butter or olive oil and sprinkle with spices and herbs.
- Place in air fryer and cook at 375 for 25 minutes
- Rotate and cook another 5 minutes (very large breasts may require additional time)
- Remove when temperature reaches 165 F.
Be sure to check the temperature- it’s impossible to tell if the inside is done based on what the outside looks like.

I’m new at air fryers (Ultrean from amazon.ca) and am SO hooked! I had 2 breasts, skin on bone in, 2 lbs worth, and it took 40 minutes at 380 … spices on top, very hubby approved!!!!!

We have a frdgedaire stove air fry, does anyone know how much to adjust the recipe or is it trial and error? Also the recipe says remove when tempature reaces 165, is that interal chicken temp? Thank You
Jessie @MoolaSavingMom says
Sorry I don’t know how to adjust it for a specific machine but yes 165 would be the internal temp.

Large chicken breasts, seasoned and coated came out perfectly, juicy and tender. Love the convenience.
